New Poll Shows Christie's Popularity For 2012 GOP Ticket

According to a new poll released by Zogby Interactive among Republican presidential contenders, Chris Christie leads the pack with 27%

The poll, worded, "Of the following, which Republican would you vote for in 2012 for President if they are on the ballot?" showed that Christie held the highest percentage other than "not sure/other" with 18%.

Interestingly enough Christie has said on numerous occasions that he will not run in 2012.

Christie, back in November of 2010, was quoted on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon as saying there was "no chance" of his name being on the ticket.

When told by Fallon, "you could always change your mind," Christie remarked "I guess I could."

Christie sure knows how to talk the talk, and with a raise of the eyebrow he said, "Why would I want a less powerful job than the one I have now?"

Although initially denying running, Christie made sure to note the applause from the crowd when remarking on a possible change of mind.

When asked if Sarah Palin could be president in 2012, Christie said "Well, who knows Jimmy. It's an amazing world."

Palin finished third in the poll, with 16%, behind Mitt Romney with 17%.

At Monday's Republican National Committee Chairman debate, all five of the candidates agreed that Sarah Palin could win a general election against Barack Obama.

According to this poll, Palin's chances may be slimmer than the RNC thinks. It could be time for the Republicans to jump on the Christie bandwagon a little harder and drop Palin altogether.

Only time will tell whether or not Christie will run in 2012. He isn't too popular in his own state of New Jersey, where is approval rating is 46%, less than that of President Obama.
